For the regular Carlisle High School diploma, students need to earn 47 credits, including:
- 8 Language Arts
- 6 Science
- 6 Math
- 6 Social Studies
- 4 Physical Education
- 2 Practical Arts
- 1 Business (Financial Literacy & Employability Skills)
- 14 elective credits
To earn a Distinguished Diploma, students need to earn 53 credits, including:
- 8 Language Arts (must include Composition I AND Composition II)
- 8 Science (must include Chemistry AND either: AP Chemistry, AP Physics, OR Anatomy)
- 8 Math (must complete Algebra 2 or higher)
- 6 Social Studies
- 4 World Language
- 4 Physical Education
- 2 Practical Arts
- 1 Business (Financial Literacy & Employability Skills)
- 12 elective credits
Early Graduation:
Students wishing to graduate early must complete the application and obtain the required signatures prior to December 1st in the year they wish to graduate.

Pass/Fail Policy:
Students may choose to take up to 4 credits on a pass/fail basis. The form must be completed and turned into the counseling office.

Carlisle offers several classes on campus that earn both high school and college credit. These include:

Building Trades
Students can also take online college courses or attend classes on campus. Certain courses have prerequisites that must be met.
Schedule Changes:
Schedules changes are done through the Counseling Office. A drop/add form must be completed and signed by a parent prior to a change being made. All changes must be completed by the end of the second day of the semester.
Schedules will only be changed for the following reasons:
Dropping a Course:
A student who wishes to drop a course after the second day of the semester will have to obtain approval from a parent and counselor. A drop/add form must be completed and signed by all parties. The student will receive a F on their permanent high school transcript and no credit will be granted. Drop forms may be picked up in the counseling office.
Transcript Request:
To request an official copy of your high school transcript to send to a college or university, please log in to your Naviance student account and add the institution to your application list and then request a transcript. A transcript request form is also available here for other requests. Please see your high school counselor or the registrar in the main office if you have questions.

The state schools (Iowa, UNI, and ISU) use the RAI to determine eligibility for admission into their university. Please see the following chart for a list of Carlisle courses that count towards the RAI. To determine your RAI, visit the RAI Calculator at www.regents.iowa.gov/RAI.
